Summer has started in Burnaby, and with British Columbia going through its reopening phases, there are lots of things to do in Metro Vancouver.
From outdoor activities like visiting the many parks, lakes, trails, and bike routes to youth programs, amusement parks, and art experiences — there’s plenty to choose from this summer.

Programs for Youth in Burnaby

Explore Outdoors in Burnaby
Experience the great outdoors in Burnaby this summer by visiting some of Burnaby’s many green spaces.
Whether you’re looking to go on a bike ride, walk your dog, or have a picnic in the park, Burnaby offers plenty of opportunities to explore nature.
Playland at the PNE
Playland has begun reopening on Saturdays and Sundays this June from 11 am – 5 pm. Plus, later in the summer, it will expand to more open days and nights.
However, booking in advance will be important as the park will be operating at a reduced capacity in order to continue practicing social distancing.
Playland at the PNE will also be “cashless”, so be prepared to pay with tap-enabled cards, or Google and Apple pay.
Wings and Wizards at BC Place
A new magic-inspired exhibit is coming to BC Place Stadium this summer as well. Starting in June and going to September this interactive exhibit, Wings and Wizards, will feature a Wizarding Academy paired with technology, story-telling, and much more.
Da Vinci Art Experience
Opening June 29th, 2021, the Da Vinci Art Experience at Tsawwassen Mills will feature recreations of Leonardo’s greatest inventions and incredible machines. This immersive journey of the senses will blend virtual reality with Da Vinci’s genius so you can experience his workshop right here in Canada.
