Q: How long did it take you to feel comfortable in Burnaby and specifically, feel comfortable and “fitting in” at your school?
A: Not long, like one week – because everyone is really friendly and you can talk to everybody.
Q: Was it difficult to locate a place to live?
A: With Google Maps, it was very easy. I even “walked streets up and down” with the “street view” option. So, when we came here we already knew where the shops and bus stops were.
Q: What is the difference between school in Burnaby and school in Belgium?
A: You choose your own courses here. In Belgium, school is more streamed. For example, you can choose languages, so you take a whole bunch of courses within that stream.
