While only in its third year, the Robotics (Mechatronics) Program at École Alpha Secondary has been a big success with students. Incorporating subjects such as math, physics, and computer engineering with the core competencies of collaboration and critical thinking, ensures that students in the one-year program will have a huge advantage in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields for post-secondary education and careers.
Byrne Creek Community Secondary School, located in the Kingsway South district zone of Burnaby, is an inclusive place of learning, serving the needs of a diverse population of 1100 students, as well as the surrounding community.
Burnaby Central Secondary School’s building and surrounding facilities are a source of pride for its students. And for good reason: the gleaming new $55-million building opened its doors to great fanfare in 2012, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by then-Premier Christy Clark, and Minister of Education George Abbott.
Fall is here and Burnaby has much to offer students who are driven by the arts – or just want to try something new. While there is fantastic arts programming in all of Burnaby’s schools, students may wish to dive deeper into their passions.
