The 44th annual Vancouver International Children’s Festival returns with an extended and reimagined format for 2021.
From May 31 to June 13, families with children can attend the festival online from the comfort of their own homes!
Typically running for only a week, the Children’s Festival offers an extended experience this year with an extra 7 days of show viewings. Choose from a diverse selection of professional performances, art workshops, and much more over the 2-week span of the festival.
The reimagined festival offers a blend of live and pre-recorded online performances from artists around the world. Including performers from India, Australia, Scotland, France, and the United States.
Children can enjoy a mix of world-class theatre, music, dance, and storytelling events all specifically created for youth. Families will have unlimited streaming access until June 13th at 8 pm. This allows them to watch online shows multiple times whenever they want.
This year, the Vancouver Children’s Festival has decided to make the shows accessible and affordable to all with pay-what-you-can pricing for tickets.
A couple of highlights of the 2021 festival include; Canadian music icon and beloved children’s entertainer, Fred Penner. An interactive digital art film by ThinkArts India — ‘When the Colours Ran Away’. And a performance from Scottish artist Greg Sinclair, titled ‘A Piece of You, where Sinclair takes your personal story and turns it into a song.
Those are just a few of the wonderful performers set to play at the festival this year. You can find a full list of featured performers and special events on the Vancouver International Children’s Festival website.
In addition to the variety of incredible shows scheduled, the festival is also presenting a series of Online Arts Workshops.
