Application Process

How to Apply

Welcome! We’re excited you’re considering Burnaby for your Canadian school experience. To help you through the process, we’ve outlined the key steps, important requirements, and downloadable forms below.

Are over 17 and seeking to graduate in Burnaby

Are experiencing serious academic, behavioral, or mental health challenges

Steps to Apply

  • Collect transcripts (last 2 years), passport/birth certificate, and complete the required forms (see below).
  • Ensure you have student and parent details (names, birthdates, contact numbers, addresses)

Students must have a confirmed place to live before starting their program.  Accommodation options vary by grade level:

  • K-5: must live with a parent or blood relative
  • Grade 6: may live with a parent or blood relative
  • Grade 7: may live in homestay, but not with a Burnaby Trusted Homestay Provider
  • Grade 8-12: may arrange their own accommodation or apply to a Burnaby Trusted Homestay Provider

Homestay applications are made directly with the provider after an offer of admission is issued. Visit our Homestay Page for a list of Burnaby Trusted Homestay Providers.

Please use an email address that you check regularly. All admission updates, document requests, and your offer of acceptance will be sent to the email you enter in your application.

Submit via our online portal. Application fee: $250 CAD (non-refundable).

If your application is complete, it will be processed within 5–7 working days.
Once your application is processed, the email address on record will receive a notification to check the online portal. You will be informed if your application is accepted, declined, or if additional information is required.
If accepted, a Letter of Offer and invoice will be uploaded to the portal. The Letter of Offer will list any outstanding documents still required.
Once all required documents and full payment are received, your Letter of Admission (LOA) will also be uploaded to the portal. The LOA is needed to apply for a Study Permit (if applicable).
Students enrolling for longer than one semester must hold a valid Study Permit before beginning their studies in Burnaby.

Required Documents

Note: Incomplete applications will be deleted after 14 days.

These documents are not needed to process your application, but they will be required later. If you already have them, we recommend uploading them now to avoid delays.
