Student achievement in Burnaby Schools is grounded in opportunity, support, and belonging. Our international students consistently demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and meaningful contributions to their school communities. Each year, Burnaby Schools proudly recognizes outstanding graduating international students through our International Student Ambassador Scholarships, awarded at every secondary school. These scholarships celebrate students who not only excel in their studies, but who also model global citizenship, leadership, and community engagement—values that reflect the strength and diversity of our learning environment.
“What started as a challenging transition in a foreign country became the meaningful turning point of my life. With the support of peers, counsellors, and teachers, I found a welcoming community that encouraged me to grow both academically and personally. I have always maintained top grades across rigorous courses, including eight AP courses. Beyond academics, I became actively involved in school leadership and volunteering. I believe my journey stands as a meaningful representative for international students.”
